Starr Family | Tamworth Family Portrait

a few weeks back I finally got to meet the Starr family. What a gorgeous afternoon it was. I have photographed a few of their good friends, the flynns, Leach’s and the Goodmans So when Bri contacted me asking for a family shoot I knew this was going to be fabulous.

Bri also mentioned that their family had so many precious memories on Conrad’s family farm which was just out of Tamworth and they wanted their family shoot to be there. So many great memories of bonfires, kids chasing the chickens and riding their bikes all over the farm.

Family shoots like this I adore. Just kids being kids, gorgeous long golden grass, a family that has alot of fun together So all their family photos look so natural not forced or posed.

Nellie & Chevy were just the coolest kids. From chasing the chickens, riding their bikes, showing me around the farm and just been so much fun. They loved having their photos taken. Yes these kids were a blessing to shoot!

Winter is usually a quiet time for family portraits. But I must say the softer light & gorgeous colors & textures of the clothing & incredible sunsets. It is such a perfect time of year to shoot.

Bri also runs her own skin care business Rodan + Fields so we were also able to shoot a few headshots for this. Go check out her instagram page she has some amazing photos & results on here of her clients and the products she offers

Thanks again Bri & Conrad, Nellie & Chevy for a great afternoon it was so lovely meeting you all.

Heidi & Brent’s- Tamworth Wedding

Heidi & Brent’s Tamworth Wedding. What a day! What a couple! What a wedding!

Heidi & Brent had one crazy year due to Covid. Everything was planned perfectly & then covid hit in March. October was to be the new date but with border closures & many of their guests and bridal party not being able to make it, Brent & Heidi postponed again.
They were going to aim for a 2021 wedding. But at the end of September, I caught up with Heidi again & they decided November was their new date.
So November came around. With Heidi being able to use all her original vendors her day was perfect.

We started the day at “The Press 2340 for the boys photos. This place is just magical, incredible mood lighting & windows that seeped through the windows. Using a bit of off-camera flash to achieve an “epic” saloon grooms photograph.

Heidi has a good friend who has a gorgeous air bnb in calala. This place with white walls & great lighting made such a gorgeous place for the girls to get ready.
I always discuss their “getting ready” location as lighting can have such an impact of getting great images. So having a place like this was ideal.

Brent’s family farm in Calala was the location for their ceremony. All the guests travelled down to the centre of the property where the creek flowed through. Green grass, blue skies & the Tamworth mountains all in our background. Just spectacular!
For our location photos of course being right on the farm we didn’t have to travel far with paddocks, shed & crops all around us.

Brent & Heidi’s reception was at “The Mercure at Wests. What a location, what a venue. A gorgeous outdoor area where your guests can mingle & a huge reception room. The food was exquisite. Brent & his dad own Country Capital meats. So of course meat was going to feature heavily on all their courses. All their guests were in for such a treat with many courses of perfectly cooked & presented meats.
Heidi & Brent wanted the “same-day slideshow” which everyone just loved. Seeing images up from the day at the reception. A huge announcement by Brent during his speech was that they were expecting Twins!! At that point on the projector above we showed pictures of the two of them holding two jumpsuits. All their guests were over the moon.

For Heidi & Brent photos were important to them & they were happy to get a few extra photographs at their reception. When couples do this & sacrifice their precious time away from their reception & guests I am overjoyed & very thankful .But as you will see the results are so worth it. The Mercure is one incredible place!

I just adored shooting this wedding & getting to know Heidi & Brent. They are one truly special couple. Yes I do meet alot of gorgeous couples that have incredible weddings but this one has definitely left a huge smile in my heart.
Thanks guys for such a magical, incredible day. Cant wait for the twins to arrive!!

Jazz & Jas- Engagement- Tamworth NSW-PART 1

Jason & Jasmine are to be married in October this year. Their lead up to this wedding like most couples hoping to tie the knot in 2020 has been stressful due to Covid-19.

Just yesterday they cancelled their engagement party. So fingers crossed they will still get their Tangarratta wedding in October.

So to go out take photos & have some fun & totally forget about Covid & just be a normal engaged couple was so much fun. We had other ideas for a shoot but with bad weather predicted & me waiting on some new photography gear we decided on a mini-shoot close to town near Moore creek & Part 2 at a later stage. So watch this space.

A few weeks ago Holly from The good gift co. gifted me one of her famous bags & a throw, so we used these for some of the pics. as it went so well with what Jason & Jazz wore.

Jason & Jasmine’s parents are both very good friends of ours we have known them all for such a long time. SO when these two got together we were just so happy for them. They are just so relaxed, cute quirky & oh so very in love all at the same time.

Thanks guys cant wait for Part 2 & your wedding!!

Tamworth Family Portrait | Blackburn Family

A few weeks back Liz contacted me wanting an update for their family photo. Little did I know this would be my last Tamworth family portait for sometime due to Covid-19.

But what a family photo shoot to show you all & as many have postponed their family shoots till we can get together again. So if you’re one of those families or thinking we need an updated family portrait, I hope you see these & want something similar for your family

In times like these when families are together we see what is truly important, that memories mean everything. That things within a family change so quickly but also how quickly our kids can change.

I photographed Doug & Liz’s wedding before they had a family. They are such a beautiful couple. I remember this wedding fondly. This wedding was such a “goosebumps wedding”. Family & their close friends meant everything to Doug & Liz on their wedding day. Their wedding was held where Liz grew up. They got married at the local church Saint Oswald’s Anglican Church followed by their reception at The Graze Willow Tree Inn.

Fast forward a few years later, Doug & Liz have two gorgeous boys Jimmy & Dan. They have the most gorgeous personalities. During the shoot the boys ran & laughed & were just boys…I just loved it!!. Yes they were so comfortable they had real belly-laughs which was so cute!! They are country boys growing up on a farm near Tamworth & you can tell they just love their life.

laughs all around for two young boys against a rusty farm shed near Tamworth. the young kids are wearing cowboy boots for their family portrait

Thanks guys for asking me to photograph your gorgeous little family.

cheers Karissa

The Good Gift Co |Holly |Tamworth Business photographer

I have known Holly & Ben ever since I shot their Hunter Valley wedding in 2014. Since then I have photographed the new additions of their boys Alfie & Huxley. So while I have been her Tamworth wedding & family photographer I had never been her Tamworth business photographer.

This shoot was a little different. Holly has always had a eye for design & has incredible style.

She started a little business called The Good Gift Co last year so it wasn’t a shock to me her business took off!

She has made her dream come true after having her two boys she wanted to run a small business from home whilst looking after her kids.

A little while ago I was chatting to Holly about pictures for her Instagram. She does all her own & they look incredible but for her to be in some of the photos it was a bit tricky. Hence where I came in being her Tamworth business photographer.

Please go checkout her website it is just exquisite, from her signature handbags, jewellery & things for the home…

So when I came back this time we organised a small shoot with a good friend of hers Kymmy. Kymmy has twin girls, so along with Holly & her two boys & Holly’s amazing styling we set about on a lifestyle shoot.

Of course in true toddler style one twin fell asleep in the car on the way there so wasn’t in any pics. We set up under an amazing spot under a peppercorn tree, got some fabulous shots but due to the dog eating the cheese platter, a few tired kids & a big black storm brewing in the background we decided to let Ben watch the kids, pack up our picnic & let us girls just play near the house with the storm clouds in the background & be close to the house for a quick get away & hopefully not get struck by lightning in the process!

I am so happy we did!!!! The storm clouds & light is just incredible. As we played on the dirt road out the front of her house in the long grass. The storm got darker & darker but the light got better and better too. Holly & Ben live at such an amazing spot just outside of Tamworth. They have incredible sunsets & incredible storms as you will see. Cant wait for you all to see this!

Thanks again Holly!

Wes & Lyndal |New Zealand Wedding |Tauranga, NZ

Over four years ago we met Lyndal in Cambodia. She had just moved to Siem Reap & we had just moved to Phnom Penh. Over the years we would see each other, chat, come stay over & hangout. So when we found out she had met a guy in New Zealand when she went to catch up with some old friends we were so so happy for her.

Fast forward a few months later, after dating, Wes visiting Cambodia they were engaged. & everyone was just over the moon. I hadn’t met Wes yet but we love Lyndal. She is just so kind, friendly, giving & just such a happy person. So we knew Wes would be the same.

At the end of October we travelled over to Tauranga, New Zealand for this special wedding.

Wes & Lyndal & all their families did so much for this wedding. They thought of everything & everyone. All their overseas visitors had accommodation supplied with amazing friends in Tauranga, including us. We were totally spoiled by Jeff & Sue.

Wes & Lyndal were married at the kingdom hall of Jehovah’s witnesses in Tauranga on the North Island of New Zealand. & had a gorgeous reception at a cute country hall Oropi Memorial Hall. All of their Décor was hand-made so beautifully by Wes & Lyndal & a few friends and family.

Wes & Lyndal changed into traditional Maori & Cambodian dress for a few pictures at the reception. This just added to the atmosphere at their reception.

New Zealand is certainly an amazing location for photos for your wedding. Of course we had too many incredible spots to photos as you will see below.

Thanks again for inviting us to your special day guys. We feel so honoured to be part of this incredible day.

xx Tucky & Karissa

Simpson Family |Tamworth Family Portrait | The Pavillion, Tamworth

The Pavillion Function Centre Tamworth was the scene for a perfect family shoot of the Simpson family.

I first met Scott & Melissa years ago for their wedding back in February 2012. They had their ceremony & reception in the beautiful garden at The Pavillion. I still remember their day with a smile. Scott & Melissa had the best day with perfect weather, & surrounded by perfect family & friends.

So 7 years down the track I have photographed Scott & Melissa, their maternity shoot, newborn pics & now updated family pictures of their gorgeous little family of 4. They now have the gorgeous, very friendly & full-of-beans kids Willow & Jasper.

Melissa said she would always tell Willow her eldest daughter about the day her dad & mum got married as they drove past the The Pavillion function centre. Willow always wanted to go & visit as it always looked so beautiful & of course she believes with a beautiful garden there must be a lot of fairies that live there.

So last Sunday was the day to go explore, have family pics taken, Jasper with his digger & Willow in her princess dress ready to find some fairies

The light was just golden & so perfect.

I hope you love these pictures as much as me. What is there not to love a gorgeous family of four, two parents who truly love each other with two gorgeous kids with personality plus.

Cheers Karissa xx

Leach Family | Family Portrait |Tamworth

Last week I caught up with Cath & Bart Leach for their family portrait out at their family home at Moore Creek.

I first met Cath & Bart back in 2013 for their wedding at Tangarratta. I just adored this wedding. Cath & Bart were one of the best couples I haveever photographed. Yes my type of couple. Funny, in-love, had great friends & family that were up for any photo. I remember their day fondly, I came away from that wedding with a sore mouth from laughing & smiling so much.

Like many of my couples I keep in contact through facebook, & I love seeing their posts of their new babies & special things happening in their life. So when Cath contacted me saying they needed a family shoot I couldn’t wait.

Their kids Max, Molly & Sadie are just like Cath & Bart, cruisey, relaxed, friendly & very funny. SO I just loved every minute!!

I just adore your photos. Your family is just adorable You cant beat a family shoot at home. Everyone is relaxed, the fridge isn’t to far a way for a beer.

Good luck in choosing a favourite!!

Thanks again guys

cheers Karissa

Brown Family |Family Portraits | Redhead Beach, Newcastle

In April I was lucky enough to travel to Newcastle for so many family shoots. But this shoot of Shane & Jacqui was extra special to me.

Shane is my cousin, so I guess you can say we have known each other for a little while now.

I photographed their wedding in Tamworth, a few years back, which was so much fun.

“The Cronin” family weddings are always a blast. So many laughs, good times, banter & oodles of dancing. Whilst I love weddings like this, especially ones where I know most of the guests, I do also love shooting individual families.

Jacqui & Shane asked me to capture their family at Redhead beach on an early Sunday morning. A perfect location for little Austin. To him this was not a photoshoot it was all about exploring, chasing birds & trying to get himself wet as well as his parents .

It is hard to get up super early for a sunrise shoot but the results are always incredible. On the east coast of Australia the sunrise over the ocean is always gorgeous. Along with Redheads’ beach of amazing cliffs, rocks & different textures we had the perfect morning.

It was so lovely catching up & spending time with “The cousins”. Thanks again Shane + Jacqui + Austin

Tamworth Newborn Family Portrait-Sean & Karen

Most of my newborn shoots I do now are outdoors where the light is natural, where older siblings can run around & play as we photograph the newest member of the family.
This is exactly what Karen & Shaun wanted for their family portrait. They love the outdoors & so do their kids.

Really close friends of theirs James & Sandra have the most gorggeous farm just outside of Tamworth in the hills. So after a 4WD to the top I was met by this incredible location. One of the best I have ever seen.
Rolling hills, gorgeous light, an amazing timber shack & oodles of room for the kids to run around.
Yes the perfect spot for a newborn shoot.

So here are a few of my favourite images from that day.
Thankyou so much for such a great afternoon & meeting the newest member of your family.
