BULA!!!
Well this time last week Dee (my assistant) & I were shooting Kate & Daniels Destination Wedding In Fiji. SO nice & warm.
My first ever destination wedding!! What a blast & a great wedding location to shoot at.
Kate & Dan must be 2 very loved & liked people. They had over 110 people travel to Fiji for their wedding! & yes after spending a few days with these guys & shooting their wedding I can see why they are so popular.
They are the most laid-back cruisiest couple ever. Yes - Kate had everything planned down to the tee but I think that is why it was such a successful wedding.
I would have to rate this wedding in my top 10 of weddings. Its was so beautiful & so different to Aussie weddings & I guess instead of a wedding lasting 1 day this lasted a week. SO by the time Monday came for the Big Day everyone was well into holiday/party mode.
They thought of everything: the accommodation packages for all were inclusive of all food & drinks at “The Hideaway Resort”. This place is so beautiful & friendly. They had umbrellas for the ladies & buttonholes for all the guys…why you ask?
Well they wanted everyone there to be in their bridal party. SO they had these gifts for all. Also the dress code for the wedding was white for the girls & white & beige for the guys. This looked amazing – overlooking the beach with a sea of white as they said there vows!!
Things were so cruisey & in “Fiji time”… I had to laugh; Yes the bouquets for the wedding were suppose to be there for the wedding but due to” Fiji Time” they arrived just as she walked down the isle. But due to the fab flower arrangements in each room we made do with our own creations!!Kate had alot of other mates & family help with Hair & make-up & as Kate put it shes not a “girlie-girl” so she need help with this. SO Kate for someone who usually does’nt wear alot of make-up you looked so natural & amazing.
Yes, as you will see they had a bit of Fijian tradition put into their wedding with warriors carrying her in, a kava ceremony & a choir from gorgeous locals escorting her down the isle.
Also, a huge thankyou to all your friends & family. Sometimes when I shoot at weddings you get made to feel like your just working & a small number of people do treat you like this but not with Kate & Daniels wedding. Everyone was so friendly & just so nice. We were treated like one of the Guests. Thanks so much.
Here also is a link to my website-wedding stories. You will see these pics & more. To all the guests please visit the guest link to check-out pics of your self from the day. Thanks enjoy

Photos are fantastic and it was a fantastic wedding. 2 great people who love each other totally and that shows through in the photos and by how many turned up. A location like Fiji didn’t hurt. A perfect weeklong party. Totally recommend it.

BULA!!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!! We knew we made the right choice picking you guys. VINAKA over and over. Thank you for capturing our big day so brilliantly Karissa & Dee. We have been on a cruise (ended up on the same one as the folks!!!! (daniels inlaws) for our Honeymoon!!! It wasnt that bad and was nice to talk to them instead of small talk with strangers) and haven’t had internet, so back on shore today and been racing around to find the internet to check out your work. Have to say you have excelled as you do Karissa and we are thrilled. For someone who hates photos and really only wanted at least one good shot, we have so many good and fabulous ones now. Thank you for making a novice who has a poor self esteem when it comes to photos of ones self feel so comfortable and get the right shot. FIJI and HIDEAWAY was absolutely brilliant. Ranadi and your staff are magical people who are now part of our family forever. To our 110 bridal party. VINAKA for coming, for participating and for being in our lives. We love you and you added to our day brilliantly. What a fabulous week. There is not a single thing we would have changed. It was pure magic for the whole 7 days and we are very spoilt we got to share that week with you all. Sorry we in the week still didnt manage to catch up with you all properly, but know we LOVE YOU and for you being there. Thanks again Karissa & Dee……LOVE IT!!!

Hi Karissa,
Kate’s mum Cheryl here – sitting in the Qantas Club lounge in Sydney awaiting our connecting flight back to Tamworth after our arrival back from Fiji a few hours ago. I couldn’t wait to get home to check out the photos (again – I did have a sneek peak at an internet cafe when we were in Nadi the other day but the “trash the dress” photos weren’t on yet). Just have to say WELL DONE and THANK YOU SO MUCH. I knew Kate was “spot on” when she wanted YOU to weave your photgraphic magic for THEIR special day. You were right it WAS sooooo much fun for EVERYONE for the whole week and the staff at Hideaway were wonderful – especially Ranadi the wedding coordinator – I am sure if Kate said the wanted the sand on the WHOLE beach coloured pink or blue or primrose (instead of JUST THREE containers of different coloured sand – for the sand ceremony) she would have personally painted each grain of sand hereself. No need to thank us for making you and Dee feel as if you were part of our guests because you both WERE. Can’t wait to look at the photos at home on my BIG monitor but just wanted to let you know how happy I am at the results of your work. WELL DONE. ALSO looking forward to checking out Dee’s videotography as well, I am sure it will also be great. AGAIN thanks heaps and wont the grandkids get a laugh out of the fact that Nanna and Poppy went on mum and dads honeymoon with them. Luv Cheryl.

WOW. What a beautifully comprehensive showcase of the day. Kate and Daniel I’ve never seen you so happy and Kate you were absolutely radiant (maybe ‘jellybean’ had something to do with this too!?). Congratulations. Good Luck trying to cram all those exquisite photos into an album!
